Panama City Beach, Florida

One of the most popular beach vacation destinations for families, singles, high school graduates, college graduates, soon-to-be college freshmen, whoever, is beautiful Panama City Beach, Florida. This very desirable, very affordable vacation spot is located in Florida’s Panhandle.

Panama City Beach has 27 miles of the whitest, softest sand that can be found anywhere. The sand is actually formed of quartz crystals which washed down from the Appalachian Mountains throughout the ages. The sun is reflected from the sand so well that it does not become uncomfortable to walk on, even during those hot, over ninety degree summer days.

Panama CityBesides its beach attraction, Panama City Beach also is known for its great fishing. Bay Point Marina in Panama City Beach hosts a major bluefish tournament every year. In addition, snapper, grouper, tuna, and marlin can also be caught.

St. Andrews State Park, located on the east end of Thomas Drive, has 1200 acres of land that includes beach areas, sand dunes, and walking trails. Camping at one of the 176 available sites is very popular.

Alligator Lake may truly allow one to see the creature for which it is named. Deer may appear on secluded portions of paths that wind through the woods, while the marshes attract various species of wading birds.

Fishing is accomplished simply by walking out on the 450’ pier or merely climbing on one of the numerous jetties (a fancy name for rock) that are located in the park.

The attractions in and around Panama City Beach include Shipwreck Island Water Park and a newer recreation park called Frank Brown Park. Both the water park and Frank Brown offer ample opportunities for family fun.
